Baazar Kolkata, one of the oldest growing value retail chain has collaborated with Ad My Bin, a social enterprise in 2017 to launch a CSR Initiative to generate awareness & interest to encourage the use of Litter Bins in streets of Kolkata & Jamshedpur. Together, have installed 150+ Litter Bins, each Litter Bin is installed at a distance of 50 to 100 mts in medium to high populated areas catering to littering on streets. To generate employment amongst low income groups, we have employed ragpickers/daily wage workers who act as our cleaning agents on day to day basis facilitating cleaning & washing of Bins along with changing garbage bin bags regularly. The ragpickers are given E-Rickshaws to commute which helps them to transfer garbage to waste disposal units in the city.
These litter bins not only inculcates the habit of use of bins in public areas and recycling among general public but also keeps the neighborhood clean and hygienic.
